Gruber on iPhone Calendar Syncing

ical.jpg

John Gruber took the time to write up what a lot of us are thinking about MobileMe calendar syncing. So close ... but not quite.

I enjoyed your article. You are obviously someone who understands the sytem and I'm hoping you can help me with a problem.
My wife and I recently switched over our entire home/office oranizational system from the palm system to the iPhone simply because one of our cell phones/PDA died and it was time to move on. We've been Mac users for years and it seemed to be a no brainer to get the iPhone which we did about a month ago. But like you we are finding all sorts of shortcomings in the design of the whole syncing thing. In particular we are frustrated that "to do's" in the ICal do not appear anywhere in the iPhone. The only solution seems to be some convoluted way of sending the "to do's" to the MacMail program and then from there somehow it gets sent to the iPhone. My wife and I have been on with Apple tech support about this but there seems to be no simple solution. Do you have any insights? Thanks!!
