macsparky Free Stuff - The Audioengine AW1 Giveaway and Discount

First the Swag...
I've received several emails from readers asking me about the Audioengine AW1 Wireless Adapter I recently reviewed. Well guess what? The folks at Audioengine have agreed to give away two of them to Macsparky readers. This isn't one of *those* contests. I promise. All you have to do is head over to Audioengine and look at the AW1 Wireless Adapter. Then post a comment to this thread explaining what you would do with a free AW1 Wireless Adapter. I can't wait to see what ideas everyone has for this great product. Please just one entry per person. This contest is only available to people with a United States shipping address (sorry).
On Friday February 29 (yes.. leap year day), I'll randomly select two names and announce the winners. Audioengine will then ship the winners their free AW-1. See? Easy! No DNA sample required and no "discussion" about the benefits of timeshares.
"But wait ... there's more..."
Audioengine also agreed to give a 10% discount off all of their products to readers using the "Macsparky" discount code. So if you've been looking for some outstanding desktop speakers, a floor shaking subwoofer, or (like me) lusting after the shelftop A5's, now is your moment. Carpe diem.

A further note regarding the contest...
A few people have written me confused on how to enter. All you have to do is put a comment below and leave an email that finds you if you win. I'm going to make a list of all the comments (removing duplicate entries), then number the list, then randomly generate two numbers and those two are the winners. Rather than do the usual "email me" contest, I thought it would be more fun for everyone to post. This is a unique product and I've already got several new ideas on how to use it from your posts.
The winners are picked Friday (contest closes 9pm pacific on Friday) and the winners are announced on Saturday. Good luck!

After listening to your review I realized how nice they would be to use around our small but oddly laid out house. It is hard to hear music throughout the other rooms and this would give an easy alternative to piping music throughout.
I would use it to stream music from the kitchen where my iMac is to the back bedroom.
Considering I only use my laptop speakers, it would enable me to have a nice audio set up in my room. The reason I don't have external speakers set up yet is because I don't want wires running everywhere. This could help me place speakers where I want and not have to worry about a mess of cables running throughout my room.
Interesting review - first learned of it from MacWorld. I am interested in using it for streaming to back yard and for events. Instead of stringing permanent wiring, over which people trip or needing to be visually hidden, this serves the function!
I could use a dozen of these throughout my house. I thought about these years ago but never known any company to make them happen. This is great!
Stream audio to our basement or back deck, or kitchen. So many uses. This thing is exactly what we've been looking for.
Cool, count me in!
This looks great. My wife and are both trying play music or listen to pod cast in different places around the house. If I had one I could put it to use a lot, as long as I keep it away from my wife.
Stream audio to the backyard when I'm in the garden
I really think this product can help with some of my audio issues. I just have way too many wires all over the place and this would clean things up nicely. Plus, I could also use these at the church where I attend for some special occasions. Great job Audioengine!
Sweet!
I did a little research and these look like wonderful speakers. They would make a great addition to my tech list. GL everyone.

Enjoy your segments on macreview cast. Thanks for a great blog! Please enter me in the contest.
I have two great 70's ElectroVoice speakers in my living room, but none elsewhere, especially in other rooms where I use my laptop mac, so just the thought of having nice sound for music, movies, and general projects on my mac sends me to a wonderful daydreaming place! Pleeeeeeeze enter me in your contest!
I would be streaming audio from my mac downstairs to my receiver upstairs in the living room!
I think its great of those guys to be giving these away
Would be an awesome way to integrate the baby monitor with my computer.
I could mike the baby's room, and feed the audio into my computer in the basement wirelessly. Then I can use the headphones on the computer so I can still listen to tunes, play games and hear the baby, without waking up the rest of the house......
I would love to use these to get rid of all the wires and let me use speakers where I couldn't before. Great addition to my growing gadget collection!
I will use the AW1 to get my wife off my back for having my earbuds in all the time listening to Podcast. At least this way I can just stream the content to my stereo and not tune everyone else out.
I guess that is a good reason. LOI.....
The lack of noticeable latency is the most impressive feature to me. Also, the size of the device is surprising. I will most likely buy a set to pump audio outside to my hot tub if I don't win.
If I win the free AW1 Wireless Adapter I would not have to buy the Evolve speakers. I want to stream music and podcasts outside so I can garden without the earphone cord snagging on something or the Apple earbuds falling out of my ears.
By the way, David, I have enjoyed seeing how you've grown into one of the Mac regulars amongst the Mac podcast community.
Would you believe that my new MacBook showed up at my door this morning and my joy was curtailed by the latest laptop news from Apple. I thought for sure that they would only revise the MacBook Pro. Damn.
Anyway, my dad was an Attorney like yourself. I get the feeling that your an awesome father. I have 3 boys of my own.
Keep up the good work.
Brad
Nice Product!
I'd use these to play my iTunes music from my computer on my speaker system.
Problem with Airport is it only supports iTunes. I would use this with my iMac to send audio from other websites (e.g. Rhapsody) to my receiver. Would love to win one of these!!!!
heard about it, looked at it , now I want to win it
In preparation for retirement my wife and I are upgrading our audio, video and computer equipment and the AW1 will be a great addition. It will enhance our retirement when money for these types of enhancements will be less available. We have always tried to stay current or even a little ahead of the curve with regard to our audio, video and computer equipment. Our children have told us one of the enjoyments of their childhood was their family being current or a little ahead of the curve when it came to audio, video or computer equipment. We want to have this same enjoyment during our retirement and I feel the AW1 would add to that enjoyment.
Thanks for the opportunity to own what appears to be an awesome product.
